Marta Systems, Inc. Weather Data Acquisition and Display Services

SKYTAP(sm) Weather Data Service provides graphical and alphanumerical weather products via high-speed Internet connection or 56k-bps dial-up modem communications.

SKYTAP(sm) uses a proprietary network socket to transfer the data via Internet through your local Internet service provider. You select how often to automatically retrieve new data and your systems' weather data is updated continuously in the background. SKYTAP(sm) transfers data at up to T1 (1.54Mbit/sec) speeds using loss-less data compression for the fastest transfers. Marta Systems also maintains multiple dial-up modem direct access connections for primary and backup data retrieval using standard phone lines.

Marta Systems' SKYTAP™ Graphics Weather Software is required to access NEXRAD weather radar, weather satellite imagery, and/or DIFAX services, and display the graphic products on personal computer systems.

Marta Systems' SKYTAP™ Alphanumeric Weather Software is required to access the NWS Public and Domestic data services, and display the alphanumeric products on personal computer systems.

Marta Systems' SKYTAP+™ Graphics & Alphanumerics Weather Software is required to access the NEXRAD weather radar, weather satellite imagery, DIFAX, and alphanumeric data services, and display the graphic and alphanumeric products on personal computer systems. Fusion of satellite, radar, and other graphics are supported.

Marta Systems' WeatherPoint® Meteorological Software is required to access the NEXRAD weather radar, weather satellite imagery, DIFAX, and alphanumeric data services, and display the graphic and alphanumeric products on personal computer systems. Fusion of satellite, radar, and other graphics are not supported. WeatherPoint™ is a lower cost alternative to the above SKYTAP+™ Graphics & Alphanumerics Weather Software

NEXRAD Weather Radar	20 of the most popular products that the WSR-88D NEXRAD Radars produce, plus National and Regional Mosaics.
Weather Satellite Imagery	High resolution digital weather satellite imagery consisting of GOES-8, Digital GOES-10, Meteosat and GMS weather satellite products.
NWS DIFAX	Over 300 Digital Facsimile Charts produced by the National Weather Service (NWS).
NWS Red Book Graphics	Afos Red Book Graphics products are Georeferenced and can be overlayed onto Marta Systems' Satellite Imagery and/or Nexrad Radar products.
NWS Alphanumeric Products	Alphanumerics Service Includes NWS Public Products and NWS Domestic Data. Public Products (PPS) is the NWS Family of Services' text-based meteorological data feed covering the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. PPS products include watches and warnings, national weather summaries, agricultural forecasts, recreation reports, road conditions, record reports, hydrology, air quality indices, earthquakes, and extended forecasts. PPS reports are mostly plain language information.
Domestic Data Service	The Domestic Data Service (DDS) is the NWS Family of Services' text-based general meteorological data feed providing observed data as well as textual forecast information covering the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. DDS products include surface reports, upper air data, city forecasts, radar, PIBAL observations, pilot reports, SIGMET's, oceanographic data, bouy reports, and FOUS guidance. DDS reports are mostly coded information.
NWS Grid Model Data	The NWS Grid data consist of worldwide model and buffer data including: ETA, AVN, MRF, NGM, RUC, Meso ETA, ECWMF. This data is in a standard format and intended for use with Marta Systems SAND Grib Option. The addition of grid data allows the system to plot forecast data over any specified area of interest.
